The name itself comes from the Italian "a ventura" — meaning "by chance" — a nod to the accidental discovery of aventurine glass by Venetian glassmakers on the island of Murano in the early 17th century.

How We Source and Cut Aventurine

Each aventurine dial begins as a raw stone slab. The stone is cut into thin wafers, polished to a mirror finish, and then fitted with applied indices and hands. Because aventurine is a natural material, every dial is unique — the pattern of sparkling inclusions is never the same twice.

This is also why aventurine dials are more expensive to produce than standard printed dials. The stone is fragile, and wastage during cutting can be significant. But the result is a dial that looks alive — shifting and sparkling as it catches light from different angles.

Aventurine Colours and Varieties

This is a synthetic material made by suspending copper flecks in molten glass. It sparkles, but it lacks the depth and organic variation of real stone.
