Quartz

Quartz watches are battery powered. We use Seiko quartz movements in all of our watches.  The seconds hand of a quartz watch "ticks" as can be seen in the gif below. Essentially every one second equals one "tick." 

Our quartz watch batteries last on average 2 years until a battery replacement is necessary.

Automatic

In contrast to quartz watches, an automatic watch converts your everyday motion into energy — no battery necessary. The seconds hand of an automatic watch "glides", in contrast to the "ticking" movement of a quartz watch. The hand moves more frequently than only once per second.

Finally, our automatic watches also feature a date window, while the quartz versions do not
